My name is Christian Vela and I'm from San Jose, California. I learned to play guitar while in junior high school, and formed my first band as part of a seventh grade science project. I've worked in performing arts theaters as a production technician from the time I was in high school.

I graduated from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills California with a degree in Music Technology. I grew up playing and touring in Latin, Ska, Jazz, Reggae and Punk bands. I'm fluent in English & Spanish and can moderately comprehend Portuguese, French and Italian. Playing music, working in production management & identifying methods to solve problems to elevate production values are my passions.

For over a decade, I served as the Senior Production Manager at SFJAZZ in San Francisco and also Production Manager for the annual San Francisco Jazz Festival.

Currently, I'm the Associate Artistic Director for San Jose Jazz and also co-curate & serve as the Production Manager for the annual three-day San Jose Jazz Summer Festival. I Manage, Tour Manage & Production Manage various artists and organizations.

Pinke Records has become a multifaceted outlet for all of my production work.
